Jacobs wins engineering work on four Arkema PVC projects in China
Jacobs said it won four contracts from Arkema France for basic engineering services to support the provision of Arkema's proprietary suspension and emulsion technology to four of its clients in China. As currently planned, the four new projects in China will add more than 4 million tpy of PVC capacity.
Fluor to design US biofuels demonstration plant
Fluor was awarded an engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCm) contract by Joule Unlimited to design and build a biofuels demonstration facility in New Mexico. The technology will use sunlight to convert proprietary organisms and carbon dioxide into liquid hydrocarbons and ethanol.
KBR to process deep oils for Russian refiner TAIF
KBR was awarded a contract by TAIF Group to provide licensing and engineering services for the Veba Combi Cracker (VCC) to be implemented at the Nizhnikamsk refinery in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. It marks the largest VCC project award for KBR since acquiring the technology in January 2010.
Aramco, Dow award EPCm deal to Foster Wheeler for Saudi propylene oxide unit
Foster Wheeler has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCm) contract from Saudi Aramco and Dow Chemical for a propylene oxide (PO) unit at Jubail Industrial City in Saudi Arabia. The unit should be completed during the first quarter of 2015.
JKC venture wins $15bn of engineering work for Ichthys LNG in Australia
KBR said its JKC joint venture with JGC Corp. and Chiyoda Corp. has signed the formal contract for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) activities on the Ichthys LNG project in northern Australia. The Ichthys LNG project is a joint venture between INPEX (76%, the operator) and Total (24%).
Linde Engineering acquires biomass gasification technology of Germany's Choren
Linde Engineering Dresden has acquired the Carbo-V technology of insolvent Choren Industries, Freiberg from German insolvency administrator Dr. Bruno M. Kübler. The acquisition of the Carbo-V technology comprises all related patents and trademarks, and the purchase price was undisclosed.
Methanex to relocate Chile methanol plant to US
The company picked Jacobs for engineering services on the project, which it hopes to start up at the new site in 2014.
Shaw lands technology upgrading deal for FCC unit at Thailand refinery
The Shaw Group was awarded a contract to provide the technology license and process design package for the revamp of a residue fluid catalytic cracking (RFCC) unit for Star Petroleum Refining Co. in Map Ta Phut, Thailand. The upgrade will incorporate the latest advances in reactor system technology.
CB&I inks Houston Ship Channel storage tank deal
CB&I said Friday it awarded a $60 million, by BOSTCO for the engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction of storage tanks for its grassroots black oil storage terminal on the Houston Ship Channel.
CB&I to supply process heaters for Russia refinery modernization work
CB&I said Thursday that its Lummus Technology business sector was awarded two separate contracts by a client in Russia. The scope of work includes detailed design and engineering and material supply for numerous heaters for a refinery modernization project, the company said.
