Jacobs wins engineering work for Solvay specialty polymers plant in China
Jacobs Engineering Group was awarded a contract from Solvay for a specialty polymers production plant to be built at Solvay's industrial site in Changshu, located in the province of Jiangsu, China. The plant is scheduled to become operational in the first quarter of 2014 and significantly boost Solvey's capacity.
Lukoil taps Foster Wheeler for waste heat boiler at Russia refinery
Foster Wheeler has been awarded a contract by Lukoil for the supply of a waste heat boiler for the Nizhegorodnefteorgsyntez refinery located in the Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia. Foster Wheeler’s scope of work is scheduled to be completed by March 2013, it said.
Engineering firms DHV, Royal Haskoning to merge
Engineering consultancies DHV and Royal Haskoning have agreed to merge with an expected closing date in mid-2012, officials said on Tuesday. With headquarters in Amersfoort, the Netherlands, the company’s 8,000 staff will provide services from more than 100 offices in over 35 countries.
Shell extends Wood Group engineering contract for UK gas plants
Wood Group has secured a contract extension from Shell in the UK to deliver midstream engineering and construction services to the St Fergus and Mossmoran gas plants. The award marks a continuation of the previous contract awarded to Wood Group in 2007, the companies noted.
CB&I, Zachry venture wins FEED work for Freeport liquefaction project in Texas
Freeport LNG Expansion and a joint venture of Zachry Industrial and CB&I entered into a front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract for the Freeport liquefaction project near Freeport, Texas. The Zachry/CB&I venture will engineer and design three LNG liquefaction trains of 4.4 million tpy each.
ICA Fluor Daniel awarded $135mn engineering deal for new Pemex refinery
Mexico's state-owned oil company Pemex awarded a $135 million contract for engineering and management services to ICA Fluor Daniel (jointly owned by Mexico's Empresas ICA and Fluor) for the first phase of a new refinery to be built near a current one in Tula, Hidalgo state.
Jacobs wins engineering work on four Arkema PVC projects in China
Jacobs said it won four contracts from Arkema France for basic engineering services to support the provision of Arkema's proprietary suspension and emulsion technology to four of its clients in China. As currently planned, the four new projects in China will add more than 4 million tpy of PVC capacity.
Fluor to design US biofuels demonstration plant
Fluor was awarded an engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCm) contract by Joule Unlimited to design and build a biofuels demonstration facility in New Mexico. The technology will use sunlight to convert proprietary organisms and carbon dioxide into liquid hydrocarbons and ethanol.
KBR to process deep oils for Russian refiner TAIF
KBR was awarded a contract by TAIF Group to provide licensing and engineering services for the Veba Combi Cracker (VCC) to be implemented at the Nizhnikamsk refinery in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. It marks the largest VCC project award for KBR since acquiring the technology in January 2010.
Aramco, Dow award EPCm deal to Foster Wheeler for Saudi propylene oxide unit
Foster Wheeler has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCm) contract from Saudi Aramco and Dow Chemical for a propylene oxide (PO) unit at Jubail Industrial City in Saudi Arabia. The unit should be completed during the first quarter of 2015.
