Tyco inks supply deal with Shell for butterfly valves
The flow control unit of Tyco International has been selected by Shell to provide butterfly valves for the company’s global operations. The five-year agreement covers more than 2,500 of Tyco's Vanessa, Winn, NeoTecha and Sapag brand highly engineered butterfly valves, for use in projects, maintenance repair operations and turnaround applications, the company said.
Siemens completes wind turbine project in Iowa
Siemens Energy, Mortenson Construction, and MidAmerican Energy Company have completed the expansion of MidAmerican Energy's wind project near Pomeroy, Iowa. Thirteen Siemens wind turbines were erected at the site, creating an additional 29.9 megawatts of generation capacity.

Equipment manufacturing firm Sulzer on Friday completed its previously-announced acquisition of Sweden-based pump supplier Cardo Flow Solutions. For a total cash consideration of SEK 5.9 billion (CHF 852 million), Sulzer acquired one of the leading suppliers of pumps and related equipment in the attractive wastewater market, it said.
Fluid management firm Pall acquires Brazilian distributor Engefiltro
Pall Corp., a global leader in filtration, separation and purification, has agreed to acquire its long-time Brazilian distribution partner, Engefiltro. The acquisition will strengthen Pall’s capabilities to support customers in the fast-growing Latin American market, it said.
Foster Wheeler to design steam generators for Korea ‘green’ power project
Foster Wheeler has been given notice to proceed by Hyundai Engineering and Construction for the design and supply of four 550 MWe (gross megawatt electric) supercritical circulating fluidized-bed (CFB) steam generators for the Samcheok green power project from owner Korea Southern Power Co. Kobe Steel boosts compressor production in China
Kobe Steel has increased production capacity at its compressor plant in Shanghai, China, with a new manufacturing line starting commercial operations. Approximately 74 million yuan (600 million yen) was invested in the expansion.
Crane buys German valve maker WT Armatur
Engineered products provider Crane Co. has acquired German valve manufacturer W.T. Armatur Gmbh & Co. KG. Founded in 1978 and located in Maxdorf, Germany, WTA specializes in the production of bellows sealed globe valves and specialty change-over valves, officials said.
