MAN Diesel & Turbo buys Swiss magnetic bearing specialist Mecos Traxler
MAN Diesel & Turbo has completed its previously-announced acquisition of Swiss-based magnetic bearing specialist Mecos Traxler. Mecos is the world's largest privately owned and independent company for the development and production of active magnetic bearing systems.
Siemens to supply compressors for air separation plant in China
Siemens Energy will supply together with its Chinese joint venture SITHCO (Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery Huludao Co. two pre-engineered integrally geared compressors for an air separation plant to China. The plant will go online in early 2013. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
ITT lands global deal to supply pumps for Shell
ITT announced an agreement with Shell Global Solutions in which ITT’s Goulds Pumps brand will provide American Petroleum Institute (API) centrifugal pumps to support Shell operations worldwide. The deal is for five years with an option for an additional five years. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Flowserve Abahsain JV opens valve manufacturing plant in Saudi Arabia
Flowserve Corp. and Saudi Arabia’s S&A Abahsain Co. have formally inaugurated a new valve manufacturing plant and training center in the Dammam Second Industrial City. The facility is operated by Flowserve Abahsain Flow Control Co.a joint venture of Flowserve and S&A Abahsain.
Capstone wins Eagle Ford shale microturbine order
Capstone Turbine Corp. said Thursday that it received a follow-on order for 31 C65 microturbines from a large oil and gas producer in the Eagle Ford shale play already operating a fleet of 71 C65 units. The latest order for 31 low-emission C65 microturbines brings the customer's total to 102 units.

Synchrony is a technology development company with a portfolio of technologies and products including active magnetic bearings (AMB), high speed motors and generators, and power electronics for rotating machinery.
