US oil and natural gas well drilling activity increased in the 2011 second quarter, according to a quarterly analysis released by the American Petroleum Institute (API). Foster Wheeler has agreed to form a jointly-owned company with the State Oil Co. of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) in the Republic of Azerbaijan. SOCAR is a state-owned company engaged in the fields of oil and gas exploration, production, transportation and marketing. It intends to build an oil, gas processing and petrochemical complex in Garadag, Republic of Azerbaijan.

CB&I has been awarded a contract in excess of $300 million for a new natural gas processing plant in the northeast US, the company said on Tuesday.
Williams to expand US mid-Atlantic natgas pipeline
Williams Partners said Monday that the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) approved a proposal to expand its Transco natural gas pipeline to provide an additional 142,000 dekatherms of incremental firm transportation capacity to serve growing markets in the mid-Atlantic region by November 2012.
