The discoveries are expected to help underpin potential expansion opportunities at the Wheatstone liquefied natural gas (LNG) hub, which moved to the construction phase in September 2011.
El Paso, GE open Gulf LNG regasification terminal
GE announced on Thursday that its co-owned Gulf LNG regasification and liquefied natural gas storage facility on the Gulf of Mexico has successfully begun operations. The terminal, operated by a subsidiary of El Paso Corp., is located adjacent to the Bayou Casotte Ship Channel in the Port of Pascagoula on the Gulf coast.

Cheniere, BG ink $8 billion export deal for US LNG
BG Group has signed a fully-termed sale and purchase agreement worth about $8 billion with Cheniere Energy Partners for the purchase of 3.5 million tpy of liquefied natural gas (LNG) over a 20-year period from the Sabine Pass LNG terminal located in Louisiana. LNG exports are expected to commence as early as 2015.
