India's GAIL inks 20-year LNG pact with Gazprom
India's state-run GAIL (India) Ltd. has signed a 20-year deal to buy LNG from the Singapore unit of Russia's Gazprom OAO. The GAIL/Gazprom deal may also help revive development of the long-delayed Shtokman natural gas field in Arctic Russia, which Gazprom postponed indefinitely in August.

Williams agrees to new gas processing project for Canadian oil sands
Williams said its offgas processing method captures and processes a rich NGL/olefins mixture that would normally be burned by the oil sands producer. The producer instead burns methane that Williams provides in exchange for the NGL/olefins mixture. The name of the producer wasn't disclosed.

Airgas plans new Chicago industrial gases plant
The air separation unit, which will produce more than 400 tpd of oxygen, nitrogen, and argon, is expected to begin production in the fall of 2014. “The market for atmospheric gases is very strong in the Midwest and we fully expect it to continue,” said Michael Molinini, Airgas CEO.
Death toll rises to 29 after Pemex gas compression plant fire in Tamaulipas
The fire broke out in the late morning at a gas-reception center located on a highway that runs from the northern city of Monterrey to the border city of Reynosa. The facility receives natural gas and condensates from the Burgos production complex for transfer to its gas and petrochemical division.
