Shell looks to boost investment in downstream China gas sector
Shell is hoping to increase investment in China's downstream gas sector, as it wants to profit from every link in the gas supply chain, the head of the company's China unit said.

The closure of Kurnell, involving the loss of 330 jobs, will bring the number of refineries operating in Australia down to five from seven at the start of this year as Royal Dutch Shell is also due to close its Clyde refinery in Sydney next month. Kurnell's nameplate capacity is 135,000 bpd.

The proposed joint venture will produce and market synthetic rubbers using Versalis’ technology license and technical know-how. The agreement signed with Versalis is the fourth-such arrangement secured by Petronas for RAPID, and engineering activities will commence immediately.
Celanese, Pertamina to collaborate on fuel ethanol projects in Indonesia
In line with a long-term strategy to develop new and renewable energy sources, Pertamina will collaborate exclusively with Celanese to jointly develop synthetic fuel ethanol projects in Indonesia utilizing Celanese’s proprietary TCX ethanol process technology. Production could begin in about 30 months.
Linde starts China gas plant to serve Pu Yang Steel
The new plant will run seven air separation units with an overall capacity of 63,000 Nm3/hour of oxygen provided to Pu Yang Steel, the largest steel company in the Wu’an region. Pu Yang becomes the first steel company to choose to outsource their gas supply to a professional industrial gas provider.
Petronas picks Air Products equipment, technology for Malaysia FLNG unit
Air Products claims the AP-N LNG process is the most efficient of all nitrogen-recycle LNG processes in the industry, and is ideally suited for small-scale FLNG applications. This is the initial use of the AP-N LNG process and equipment. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Vinachem to sell stake in $4.5 billion petrochemical project in Vietnam
Vietnamese media said earlier that the plant in Ba Ria Vung Tau province is scheduled to start commercial production in 2017. It will produce 1.4 million tpy of products, most of which will be sold in Vietnam.
Aker Solutions to supply MEG reclamation plant for Australia LNG project
The scope of work includes system engineering and supply of key equipment for the MEG plant and may include some further options. MEG is used to prevent hydrate formation in subsea pipelines.
