PetroChina boosts Lanzhou refinery jet fuel yields with new hydrodesulfurizer
The refining unit, known as a hydrodesulfurizer, will help the PetroChina subsidiary produce 1 million tpy of jet fuel, making it the largest jet-fuel production base in western China, parent company China National Petroleum Corp. said Monday in an in-house newsletter.
India reports monthly decline in refinery runs
Refinery runs were down 3% from the previous month. However, throughput rose 6.6% on year, and was ahead of the government's target of 14.93 million tons, the data showed. The government didn't give any reasons for changes in the output. The data are based on production from 20 refineries.
Reliance Industries controls Jamnagar refinery fire at west India complex
Reliance, India's largest private refiner by capacity, has two refineries in the Jamnagar complex in the western state of Gujarat. This refinery is the older one and supplies products to the local market, while a new 580,000-bpd refinery is focused on exports. The crude unit will likely be restarted in two days.

The expansion plans include the installation of additional facilities to increase the terminal’s capacity from its current 6 million tpy throughput to a new annual capacity of 9 million tpy, as well as the construction of a fourth tank. The design will also explore possible future expansions.
CB&I to build Esso Australia gas conditioning plant
CB&I’s work scope includes the engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction of the Longford gas conditioning plant, which is designed to handle 400 million cubic feet/day of gas from the Kipper, Tuna and Turrum fields in Bass Strait. The deal is worth about $550 million.
Alfa Laval to supply Australia LNG heat exchangers
The Alfa Laval compact heat exchangers will be used in a new major gas processing facility in Australia, where they will recover and reuse heat in the gas cleaning process, prior to the liquefaction. By reusing heat, the heat exchangers will contribute to bringing down energy consumption and CO2 emissions.
Petronas picks Toyo for revamp project at Malaysia gas processing complex
Toyo is slated to provide engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning with a turnkey contract for expanding the plant's life by another 20 years. Toyo says it will actively expand business in Malaysia, where investments in large refinery/petrochemicals complexes are expected to be active.
PetroChina joins Encana in Canada gas, liquids play
Encana said said it reached a deal with Phoenix Duvernay Gas, a wholly owned subsidiary of PetroChina, to jointly develop Encana's Duvernay natural-gas-and-liquids play in west-central Alberta. The latest deal is one of four major Chinese energy investments in Canada this year.
Shell to collaborate in FLNG with Technip, Samsung
The agreement between the firms builds on the existing relationship, formed in 2009, to ensure the companies can capitalize on insights gleaned from the design and construction of Shell's Prelude FLNG facility in Australia and expand their technology offerings to the global energy market.
BHP Billiton to sell Browse LNG stake to PetroChina
The deal involves PetroChina buying BHP's 8.33% stake in the East Browse joint venture and its 20% interest in the West Browse joint venture in offshore Western Australia. Existing participants Woodside Petroleum and Shell hold the right to match PetroChina's offer, which also needs regulatory approval.
