Praxair sells US advanced components unit to NGK
Praxair has sold its advanced components business to Fremont, Calif.-based FM Industries, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Japan’s NGK Insulators. The advanced components business designs, engineers, manufactures and supplies electrostatic chucks (ESCs) and critical chamber components for semiconductor processing equipment.
Foster Wheeler wins EPCm for BP gas separation project in Scotland
Foster Wheeler has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCm) contract for BP Exploration’s enhanced gas separation project (EGSP) in Scotland. The project is expected to be completed in 2013.
Jacobs awarded design work for sulfuric acid coolers in Bulgaria
Jacobs announced Tuesday its Canada-based Chemetics unit in Pickering, Ontario, was awarded a design and fabrication contract by Aurubis Bulgaria for two proprietary designed sulfuric acid coolers to be installed at its acid plant in Pirdop, Bulgaria.
Shaw to study Iraq refinery rehabilitation project
The Shaw Group said Tuesday that it was awarded a contract by the South Refineries Co. - part of Iraq’s Ministry of Oil - to provide a feasibility study for the rehabilitation of its 140,000 bpd refinery in Basra, Iraq. The study is funded by the United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) through a grant to the South Refineries Co.
Haldor Topsøe wins diesel hydrotreater deal for Rosneft refinery in Russia
Haldor Topsøe has won the contract for a diesel hydrotreating unit for the Russian Syzran Refinery owned by Rosneft, the largest Russian oil company. The contract is a continuation of Topsøe’s and Rosneft’s collaboration, the companies said.
Topsøe to supply equipment for new Petrobras refinery in Brazil
Topsoe has signed an agreement with Brazilian oil major Petrobras to supply critical equipment and materials for two SNOX plants. The SNOX plants will clean the off gases from three boilers in the refinery that supplies electricity and steam for internal use.
Statoil extends Technip contract for pipeline repair services in Norway
Statoil awarded Technip with a two-year extension of its pipeline repair system (PRS) services frame contract until December 1, 2014. This contract covers maintenance and operation of Statoil’s PRS Pool located at Killingøy in Haugesund, Norway.
Wood Group to supply parts for Dow US gas turbine
Dow Chemical has awarded Wood Group GTS with a contract worth up to $3.5 million to provide Advanced Parts Manufacture (APM) hot gas path components for their ABB GT11D5 gas turbine located at Dow’s Plaquemine chemical plant in Louisiana. Wood will also provide specialist support from an experienced engineering team to ensure in-service reliability and the availability of critical spare parts.
