Shell suspends Pernis refinery loadings after fire
LONDON (Reuters) — Royal Dutch Shell suspended loadings of oil products from its Pernis refinery in the Netherlands following a fire at the plant, the company said in a statement to traders on Sunday.
EPA, Oregon DEQ reach agreements with Eugene company for diesel spill
(SEATTLE) — The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality and the US Environmental Protection Agency combined efforts to protect Spoon Creek, a small stream midway between Salem and Eugene along the I-5 corridor, from a February 2016, spill of red dyed diesel fuel. The joint cleanup and enforcement action has culminated in two separate agreements with the Jerry Brown Company, Inc., a petroleum distribution company based in Eugene.
Cal/OSHA, Chevron reach settlement of citations appeal following 2012 Richmond refinery Fire
OAKLAND, Calif. — Cal/OSHA and Chevron have reached a settlement agreement for a comprehensive plan that will improve safety at the Chevron Richmond refinery and for surrounding communities. The agreement meets and exceeds California's landmark regulation to reduce risk at refineries, which was approved by the Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board in May and is currently pending approval by the Office of Administrative Law.
Saudi refinery operations not affected by transformer fire
KHOBAR, Saudi Arabia (Reuters) — The Saudi Aramco Mobile Refinery (SAMREF) at Yanbu is operating normally after a fire hit a power transformer at the gate of the facility on Saturday, a spokesman for a Saudi government body was quoted as saying on the state news agency.
