Chemtura inks antioxidants supply deal in China
US-based specialty chemicals producer Chemtura has signed a long-term supply agreement with Tianjin Lisheng Chemical of PR China for production of Chemtura’s thioester antioxidants. Under the agreement, Lisheng exclusively supplies Chemtura with thioester antioxidants in all regions outside of Northeast Asia.
MAN Diesel to supply compressors for China plant
MAN Diesel & Turbo has secured an order for 24 compressor units for an integrated chemical complex in Chongqing, China, the company said on Wednesday. The order size is about €50 million.
Shell shuts down large Singapore refinery after fire
Shell is in the process of shutting down its 500,000 bpd refinery in Pulau Bukom, Singapore, following the recent fire at the facility, company officials said on Thursday. The fire, which began on Wednesday and may have been started during maintenance work, has been extinguished. However, there are still traces of fuel vapor, according to Shell officials.
Air Products to increase Korea nitrogen production
Air Products will increase production of gaseous nitrogen at Cheonan City, South Chungcheong Province in Korea to serve increasing demand from the electronics industry. The company said it will build a new nitrogen plant at its site in Cheonan industrial complex.

Huntsman plans to invest $40 million in building an Asia Pacific regional technology center in Shanghai's Minhang economic and technological development zone. The US-based chemicals manufacturer said the center would support rapidly-growing demand for world-class technology and innovation from customers across the Asia Pacific region.
Air Products wins China industrial gas supply deal
Air Products will build and operate an air separation unit (ASU) and integrated liquefier in the Nanjing Chemicals Industrial Park in Nanjing, China. The ASU follows a long-term contract agreement to supply oxygen and nitrogen to Wison (Nanjing) Clean Energy’s coal-to-syngas gasification facility in Nanjing, the company said. Specific terms were not disclosed.
Chevron approved by Australia for Wheatstone LNG
Chevron says it has received Australian Commonwealth government approval for its Wheatstone LNG project in Western Australia. The foundation phase of the project will consist of two liquefied natural gas (LNG) trains with a combined capacity of 8.9 million tpy and a domestic gas plant.
