Dow completes construction of ethylene production site in Texas
FREEPORT, Texas – The Dow Chemical Company announced the completion of the construction phase of its new ethylene production facility in Freeport, Texas. The Company reached this milestone within one week of the originally planned date, which was set approximately two years ago. Dow’s ethylene unit is now progressing through the commissioning phase, with start-up expected by mid-year.

EIA: US crude oil exports went to more destinations in 2016
In 2016, US crude oil exports averaged 520,000 bpd, 55,000 bpd (12%) above the 2015 level, despite a year-over-year decline in domestic crude oil production. Even though oil exports have increased, growth in US crude oil exports has slowed significantly from its pace from 2013 to 2015, when annual US crude oil production grew rapidly.

Total enters JV, plans ethane cracker and polyethylene unit builds in Texas
PARIS -- Total is entering a partnership with Borealis and Nova to form a JV with the aim of building an ethane steam cracker and a new Borstar polyethylene unit on the US Gulf Coast. Total is expected to hold a 50% interest in the new JV.
