Cintoo advances contextual digital twins with integrated 2D and 3D asset intelligence

Cintoo has released its new P&ID Viewer and Editor, enabling 2D technical documentation to be uploaded directly inside a digital twin and fully integrated with 3D scan data for immediate asset contextualization.

Industrial operators relying on digital twins to improve safety, efficiency and asset performance still face a critical challenge - how to connect years of 2D engineering documentation with modern 3D reality capture and BIM data.

Cintoo addresses this by enabling operators and asset managers to navigate synchronized 2D and 3D environments in a single platform to locate assets instantly, verify pipe routes, access live metadata and validate conditions directly against both engineering documents and real-world conditions.

“In 2012, I was introduced to 3D laser scanning technology, and over the past 12 years, I have focused on understanding how this technology can enhance the process industry. This includes optimizing workflows with respect to P&ID production. Cintoo takes this a step further, offering a new way to bring P&IDs into scan data and gain a deeper understanding of complex sites,” says Lewis Boxer, Founder and Director of Neonex Digital, an engineering firm specializing in the process industry.

“This is an important evolution in what digital twins can deliver in today's complex operating environments,” said Dominique Pouliquen, CEO at Cintoo. “For years, critical knowledge has been locked away in siloed P&IDs and schematics. By bringing that documentation directly into a digital twin, we’re giving operators real context so they can make more informed and proactive decisions that drive greater efficiencies.”
