Sonatrach signs contract for unit with Sinopec subsidiary to boost gasoline production capacity

Algeria's state-owned energy company Sonatrach signed a contract with Chinese company Sinopec Guangzhou Engineering to build a hydrotreating and reforming unit to treat heavy naphtha at its Arzew refinery.

In a statement, Sonatrach said the new unit will help boost the refinery's gasoline production capacity from 550,000 tpy to 1.2 MMtpy.
