China's Sinochem shuts one crude unit at Quanzhou after fire
China's Sinochem has shut one of the crude units at its Quanzhou site in Fujian province in southeastern China, following a fire incident on Thursday, seven trade sources said on Friday.
The fire occurred at its No.1 crude unit, with seven injured, state media reported, citing a statement published by the industrial park where the plant is located.
The 300,000-bpd Quanzhou refinery was due to be offline for scheduled full plant maintenance from the end of November or early December to January, three of the sources said. Its No.1 crude unit has a processing capacity of 240,000 bpd.
The refinery mainly produces gasoline, diesel, jet fuel and polypropylene. It has ethylene production capacity of 1 metric MMtpy, according to the company's official website.
