Ebara Elliott Energy completes 100-MW power upgrade
Ebara Elliott Energy (EEE), a premier solution provider in the energy industry, has announced the successful completion of a major electrical upgrade at its Jeannette, Pennsylvania (U.S.) manufacturing facility. The upgrade, which began in late 2022, now enables EEE to complete full speed and full load testing of compressors and electrical equipment up to 100 MW, or approximately 134,102 horsepower (hp), positioning the company as a global leader in large-scale turbomachinery testing.

The extensive project involved a close collaboration with First Energy and the installation of a new power line, including a Main 138-Kv breaker, a 100-MVA power transformer, and a series of capacitor banks. This new infrastructure provides reliable and robust energy to the Jeannette facility, ensuring EEE can continue to be the best solution provider for its customers.
“With the push to reduce emissions and shorten overall project cycle times we identified the trend toward high power electrification many years ago,” said Ron Josefczyk, Vice President of Global Manufacturing. “Our expanded capabilities prove our commitment to be a top provider to energy customers—the future of testing starts here.”
The completion of this upgrade is a direct response to the strong and growing energy demand, particularly in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) market. By expanding its testing capabilities, EEE is well-equipped to support its customers' transition to greener energy solutions and meet evolving environmental standards.
“Now we have one of the largest testing capabilities in the world,” said Mark Babyak, Vice President of New Apparatus Sales. “We’ve got a world-class operation for our world-class customers. This upgrade allows us to help customers transition to greener solutions, and it solidifies our role in supporting a sustainable future for the energy industry.”
With this milestone achievement, EEE reinforces its position as a one-stop-shop for design, manufacturing, testing, and service for turbomachinery, providing a level of comprehensive support that few global companies can offer.
