bp's 250,000-bpd Cherry Point refinery has completed a major turnaround, the company said.
The Cherry Point refinery wrapped up the planned turnaround activities last Friday, the refiner said.
The turnaround work included the installment of remotely operated valves at the coker unit. The company said the new valves would help mitigate risks for refinery workers by allowing them to remotely empty the coke drums that convert heavy oil residues into petroleum coke.
The refinery, located in Blaine, Washington, is the largest in the Pacific Northwest. The facility is the largest supplier of jet fuel to the Seattle and Portland international airports.
