Dynea announces start-up of formaldehyde plant

LILLESTRØM, Norway — Dynea AS announced the successful commissioning and start-up of a formaldehyde plant using silver crystals as catalyst.
The plant located in Kazincbarcika, Hungary and operated by BC-KC Formalin Kft is capable of producing 40,000 mtpy (calculated as formaldehyde 100% per weight) and will deliver 52% formaldehyde solution for the manufacturing of formaldehyde-based resins and other downstream chemicals produced, among other customers, by Borsodchem at the Kazincbarcika site.
The FASIL silver technology licensed by Dynea has already been successfully installed at more than 40 plants worldwide. Dynea is currently finalizing in Saudi Arabia the start-up of the latest world-scale Dynea Formaldehyde Silver plant.
