Chevron Lummus Global (CLG), a JV between Chevron and CB&I, had its ISODEWAXING and ISOFINISHING processes selected to produce high-quality Group II & III base oils in China.
Hengli Petrochemical Refinery Co. selected CLG for the technology licensing, engineering services and catalyst supply of a grassroots lube oil production unit to be located at Changxing Island in China's Liaoning Province.
The 683 MMtpy lube base oils unit will use CLGs ISODEWAXING and ISOFINISHING technology to produce high-quality Group II & III base oils. This unit will be part of a new, large grassroots refinery.
At CLG, we are excited to be part of this massive refinery investment for which we are designing one of the biggest plants in the world to produce Group II & III lube base oils," said Leon de Bruyn, managing director of CLG.
"In addition, the unit will enable Hengli to produce high-valued white oils, putting Hengli into a unique position in the Chinese market," he added.
