Fluor agrees to design major gas-to-methanol project in Louisiana
Fluor was awarded an engineering and design services contract by South Louisiana Methanol for a potential 5,000 tpd methanol project in St. James Parish, Louisiana, officials said on Monday.
Fluor will book the undisclosed contract value in the third quarter of 2013.
The project will be located at a site in St. James Parish, Louisiana, near the Mississippi River. Fluor is working to finalize the process design and complete preliminary design for the facility.
The project is being led by Fluor’s Southern California office with assistance from its office in New Delhi, India.
South Louisiana Methanol L.P., a gas-to-methanol project, is being developed by the Todd Corp. and ZEEP Management. Further details on the project, which South Louisiana Methanol says will be the largest methanol plant in North America, can be read here.
